Privacy policy

Last updated: October 21, 2026

HandSift is a browser extension that labels AI-generated listings on Etsy. This policy explains exactly what data it uses. In short: HandSift sends the ID numbers of the Etsy listings on the page you're viewing to the HandSift server, which looks them up through Etsy's official API. It collects nothing about you.

What stays on your device

What is sent, and where

When you view an Etsy search or shop page, HandSift sends the HandSift server:

It never sends your name, your Etsy account, cookies, search terms, the page's contents, or anything about other websites. Nothing is sent while HandSift is turned off, while the Etsy tab is in the background, or before you accept these terms.

The HandSift server runs on Cloudflare Workers. It looks up those listings through Etsy's official API and returns public listing and shop information (for example a listing's title, description, tags, materials, how it's made, and a shop's age and number of listings and sales).

What the server keeps

Like any website, Cloudflare (which hosts the server) and GitHub (which hosts this page) process standard connection data to deliver their services, under their own privacy policies.

What HandSift never does

The use of information received through HandSift adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Permissions

Your choices

Turn HandSift off in its popup at any time, clear its cache from the popup, or uninstall it, which deletes everything it stored on your device.

Children

HandSift is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date above changes too. If a change affects what data is sent, HandSift will ask you to review and accept the updated terms before it continues.
